Jeanette Kompkoff is the Director of the Division of Health Information Technology Modernization and Operations (DHITMO) at the Indian Health Service (IHS). The Division is part of the IHS Office of Information Technology overseeing and implementing modernization activities and providing strategic guidance to align the Program with the IHS mission. She is an enrolled member of the Santa Clara Pueblo and a graduate of New Mexico State University, College of Engineering Technology.  She holds a master’s certificate in Federal Program Management from George Washington University and is a certified Senior Federal Program Manager and Contracting Officer Representative. Ms. Kompkoff joined the IHS in 1988 and brings nearly 36 years of health IT implementation expertise to the IHS Health IT Modernization Program. Throughout her government career, she created infrastructure requirements, led software development, managed multimillion-dollar IT contracts, and led national teams to implement and manage large and complex IT investments and IT modernization efforts. Her key roles at the IHS include Director, Office of Information Technology, Division of Information Technology; Supervisory Information Technology Specialist; and Software Applications Developer and System Administrator.

Ms. Kompkoff continues to provide oversight and management of software and system investments. She manages 6 branches within DHITMO, including Engineering; Systems Architecture, Implementation; Deployment, Organizational Change Management; Communications, Program Management Operations, Business and Financial Management, and Electronic Health Record Application Management.  She oversees a team of more than 150 federal and contract IT personnel who support the IHS health partners; adoption of the enterprise electronic health record (EHR) system to provide consistent patient-centered care across Indian Country through proven best practices, secure technology, and shared data.
